Oyster Catchers & Lapwings

The Oyster Catchers have arrived.
I counted six pairs yesterday afternoon.
Pry House Home Field makes the perfect stopping off point for migrating birds to forage after their long, hungry flights.

These stocky little birds with their bright orange beaks & orange eyes are fascinating to watch.

The first lapwings arrived about a week ago and their distinctive 'pee-wit' call fills the air.

No curlews as yet but they should be here soon.
